Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Short Bark & Sides uses cookies and other technologies that store information on, or read information from, the device you use to visit this website.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can store on your device. They can be used to keep a website working, to remember choices and, where used, to understand how people use a website or to measure advertising. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, scripts and tags.
Our approach
This website deliberately keeps its use of cookies to a minimum. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the website, but only if you allow it: where the law requires consent, the relevant technology is not used until you have made an affirmative choice to allow it.
The technologies on this website
Website and form operation. Provider: our website hosting and website form/database provider. Purpose: serving pages securely and allowing the enquiry form to be submitted and protected against misuse. Category: strictly necessary. Duration: session or short-lived. Consent: not required, because these are necessary to provide the service you request.
Google Analytics. Provider: Google. Purpose: understanding how visitors find and use the website — for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last and the general type of device used — so we can improve the website. Cookies set: _ga and related cookies beginning _ga_. Duration: up to 2 years. Category: analytics/statistics. Consent: required. Google Analytics is not loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you allow analytics cookies. If you later change your mind and decline, the analytics tools are stopped from your next page visit onwards.
Google Maps embed. Provider: Google. Purpose: showing the salon's location on the Contact page and in the footer. Category: functional, third party. Duration: set by Google once loaded. Consent: required. The map is not loaded until you choose to load it; until then we show the address and a link to Google Maps instead. Loading the map may allow Google to store or read information on your device and to receive your IP address.
Managing your choices
On your first visit we show a short banner asking whether you allow analytics cookies. Until you choose, only strictly necessary technologies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling some technologies may affect how parts of the website work.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the technologies used by the website change, or where legal requirements change.
