Large dogs welcome
Having a team means we can comfortably accommodate bigger breeds.
Nervous dogs welcome
We're always happy to talk about a dog who has found grooming difficult.
Five groomers.
One approach.
Be kind. Be gentle.
Our friendly, professionally trained team provides dog grooming for clients from Farnham, Aldershot, Tongham, Ash, Mytchett, Farnborough and the surrounding areas. From playful puppies experiencing their first groom to older dogs who need a little extra patience, we adapt the way we work to the individual dog in front of us.
We groom dogs of all shapes and sizes, including larger breeds, and we're also happy to discuss dogs who have found grooming difficult elsewhere. With several experienced groomers working together, we're able to offer a level of support that isn't always possible in a one-person salon.
Between us, our team brings years of practical grooming experience and professional training to the salon. Tracey has been grooming for around 14 years, while Sacha, Emily and Grace are all iPET Network Level 2 and Level 3 trained.

Most dogs who require regular professional grooming benefit from appointments approximately every six to eight weeks. Keeping to a regular schedule helps maintain the coat, reduces the risk of painful matting and makes grooming a much more familiar part of your dog's routine.
The salon
A Calmer Dog Grooming Environment
Not every dog enjoys a busy, noisy grooming salon, which is why we carefully manage our appointments.
We avoid mixing particularly noisy dogs with nervous dogs wherever possible, and we wouldn't deliberately place a large, excitable dog alongside a very timid little one. We want each dog to have the space and support they need.
We don't routinely use cages. If appointments overlap, we have a separate photo area where a dog can wait comfortably.
Older dogs can be groomed on supportive yoga mats and allowed to lie down when needed, while grooming cradles can help take the pressure off elderly dogs during nail and pad work. Puppies are given breaks, cuddles and time on the floor rather than being expected to cope with everything at once.
For dogs who need extra support, having a team means two groomers can work together where appropriate.

Nervous & difficult dogs
Patience and understanding for dogs who find grooming hard
Some dogs find grooming harder than others. They may be nervous, overwhelmed by particular sensations or frightened because of previous experiences. If your dog has previously been refused by another groomer, you're welcome to speak to us honestly about what happened. We won't make promises until we understand your dog, but we're happy to have the conversation.

A little extra
Grooming with a Few Extra Special Touches
We love sending dogs home looking their best, and sometimes that means adding a little Short Bark & Sides personality. Tracey spends hours creating handmade dog bows, with different themes appearing throughout the year including Valentine's Day, Easter, Poppy Day, Halloween and Christmas.
It's a small touch, but one our clients have come to love.

Convenient location
Convenient for Dogs and Their Humans
While your dog is being groomed, you don't necessarily have to sit in the car watching the clock.
Our location gives owners the convenience of having a restaurant and coffee shop on site, so you can grab a coffee, meet a friend or get some work done while your dog is with us. You can even pick up your pet food while you're here.
Professional grooming for them and coffee for you. We think that's a pretty good arrangement.
You'll find us inside Squire's Garden Centre, Badshot Lea.
